PPL Malawi Curriculum Introductory Course
Congratulations for choosing Eastrise Aviation. This single-module course is for those who would like to test-drive the Eastrise Aviation online ground school. It is also for the beginning pilot — an ab initio who has no prior flying experience. Yes, it is also for the aspiring private pilot who would like to develop a firm foundation as s(he) progresses with the flying training. Please note that just as with all ground school courses, subscribing to this course does not mean access to training in an aircraft or on the simulator. This course is part of the PPL ground school which prepares students to satisfy the requirements of the Malawi private pilot licence syllabus.
COURSE PREREQUISITES
You must complete the Student Readiness Experience (SRE) module to commence this course. You may only be allowed to complete this course without the SRE if your subscription is temporary – for example if you are just test-driving the Eastrise Aviation online ground school. The SRE must be completed within 3 days and will not affect the validity of your subscription.

REQUIRED STUDY MATERIALS
- A working internet connection to enable you watch videos and interactive content
- A notepad and pen for note-taking
- A laptop or desktop computer with audio capability
KEY TASKS
You will have a 15-question mock exam at the end of this course. We have decided to introduce you to mock exams early in the course to ensure you get used to aviation exams. This will enable you to build confidence that would be handy in the knowledge tests at the Directorate of Civil Aviation. There are 50-60 timed questions in the actual exams (knowledge tests) at the civil aviation authority.
EXAMINATIONS
Although this course is not examinable at the CAA, it contains crosscutting content that is often found in actual examinations for other subjects such as air law, radio telephony exams and others. The important part is that it forms the foundational element of the whole PPL training curriculum at Eastrise Aviation.
