We have removed (waived) registration fees for new students to promote learning even in the midst of the Covid-19 challenge. This implies that you now only need to pay your ground school fees to start learning the theory. You can then pay in installments for the actual flying lessons when ready. This waiver is valid from 1 May to 31 July 2020.
Reduction of ground school fees
We have also reduced the ground school fees from K120,000 per module to K100,000 per module. This means that you will now pay MK800,000 instead of MK1 million for the Flexi Plan and K750,000 instead of the usual K870,000 for the Cash Plan respectively.
Increased student support
Eastrise Aviation has increased the student support time and now extend online support from 7.30 am to 7.30 pm everyday — including weekends and public holidays. This means that students can reach out even at such odd hours.
Ground school delivery
The theoretical component of the course (commonly called ground school) is still available in person (and online of course) until new Covid 19 restrictions come into force in Malawi. We have however reduced classroom sizes to not more than 6 students at a time and for the most part learning outside in the open for better ventilation. Social distancing measures are in force as well as mandatory hand-sanitisation using alcohol-based towelettes which have been provided at our training facility and in the aircraft.
Practical flying lessons
Practical flying lessons are still available from Kamuzu International Airport. Please ensure that you have booked your flight in advance. Those who have been outside Malawi in the past 14 days will not be permitted to fly until a competent medical official certifies them as fit and Covid19-free.
