Students learn meteorology at the Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) level because weather has a direct impact on flight safety, efficiency, and decision-making.
Commercial pilots must interpret forecasts, analyse weather systems, recognise hazardous conditions such as thunderstorms, icing, turbulence, and low visibility, and make sound operational decisions.
A strong understanding of meteorology enables pilots to plan routes, manage fuel effectively, avoid dangerous conditions, and operate to a professional standard.
STUDENT ASSESSMENT
Students are assessed online through our mock exam system, with assessments automatically marked by our Learning Management System (LMS), providing the advantage of instant feedback.
Once a student consistently achieves a satisfactory score of 75% or higher, our Head of Training will book the student’s examinations with the Civil Aviation Authority. All examinations must be completed within 18 months of the student’s first attempt.
